
A member of the IT Steering Committee and the Audit and Finance Committee, Jane has been an LCU director for nearly five years and was appointed President of LCU in March 2022.
Starting her career in the International Division of the Bank of England in London, Jane has also worked as a Marketing Consultant at KPMG, a commercial lawyer specialising in IT, contract and data law, and as Commercial Counsel for the Yorkshire Building Society.
Craig has been in Financial Services for over 25 years, most recently at the Skipton Group in various roles: Chairman of Skipton Business Finance Ltd; Head of Customer Experience and Change Demand for the Building Society and prior to that Operations Director for 9 years leading over 300 people and processes across Mortgage and Saving. Before Skipton I worked as Head of Marketing and Business Strategy as well as Integration leader in a couple of large mergers in multinational financial services organisations including GE Money and Santander as well as being in the Australian Army for 5 years.
Sameera is an Accountancy and Commercial Finance professional with extensive experience within financial services. Her broad background across a number of areas of finance allows Sameera to provide both strategic direction and an understanding of the complex drivers of profitability.
With many great achievements in her career, Sameera was awarded ‘Colleague of the Year’ in her first year at Skipton Building Society for revolutionising the Society’s approach to financial planning and successful leadership.
Katherine is a senior development manager working to secure philanthropic funding for a Russell Group University to deliver its strategic priorities to 2030. Her role involves connecting academics, industry, individuals and institutional leaders to develop and deliver programmes of research, student support, enterprise and civic engagement.
Katherine also worked for a global US non-profit grant maker, and is an accredited trainer for a UK charity focused on digital literacy and skills.
Alex is an industry award-winning commercial leader and Credit 500 member with strong experience in the development and delivery of customer-focussed products and propositions. A mortgage professional with a proven track record of delivering P&L improvement, formulating strategy, Alex is passionate about driving forward innovation in the mortgage industry to enhance the customer and broker experience. Alex is currently Group Director – Mortgages & Protection at Sesame Bankhall Group.
Tina Turnbull is the Chief Executive of People Matters, a Leeds-based disability organisation and charitable social care provider with approximately 350 members, staff and volunteers. She is also a governor of LYPFT, a local NHS trust and a Leeds City Council Inclusive Growth Ambassador. With a professional background in education and workforce development, Tina has held different board roles including being Chair of both Leeds City College and Leeds Citizens Advice.
Chris is an experienced IT professional with over 25 years experience in helping companies deliver complex business change through technology. Chris has worked with a number of large financial services companies including Allianz, Aviva, Axa, HBOS, Royal London, Yorkshire Building Society and Zurich. He has experience in the legal, retail and healthcare sectors, and most recently worked on the NHS Covid Vaccine Programme.
Heather is a Registered Project professional and Change Management specialist, who has worked in the civil service for over 30 years. She also ran executive corporate decision making boards, Performance Board, Investment Committee and Departmental Audit and Risk committees, so understands what makes excellent governance.
This is her first Non Exec-Director role.
Tarun is a Chartered Accountant and member of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He held senior management roles with various financial services companies before returning to practice with Grant Thornton where he established a leading advisory practice focused on speciality lending businesses. In 2018 he established his own consulting business, TMA, which continues to offer financial services sector advisory services.
