Best Bars in Leeds to Watch The Euros.

After the heartbreak of Euro 2020, hopes are high that the England men’s team can go one better in 2024 and finally bring home their first piece of meaningful silverware since 1966.

But with so many pubs and bars in Leeds showing all the games, the big question is: which one should you choose to spend your hard earned cash in?

    Here are a few suggestions!

    Aire Bar.

Looking for a sports bar with a view? Look no further, because Aire Bar’s views across the River Aire (obviously) are the stuff Yorkshire dreams are made of.

And that’s not all! Nestled in every corner of this surprisingly well-kept secret of a pub are HD screens showing every single game, with plenty of tables that can be booked in advance.

With local and guest ales aplenty, a good wine list and a comprehensive food menu, this little establishment is a great place to watch the Three Lions.

Aire Bar, 32 The Calls, Leeds. LS2 7EW.

    The Griffin.

The most traditional of our favourite local sports bars, The Griffin is resolutely old school, with classic decor, real ales, pub classics like pie and mash on the menu and a slap-bang-in-the-city-centre location.

Don’t think its sport offering is an afterthought though; The Griffin has HD screens everywhere you look – as well as a huge projector screen right by the bar – and every game of the tournament will be shown live. Tables can be booked in advance and a raft of special food and drinks packages designed specifically for the Euros are available too!

The Griffin, 31 Boar Lane, Leeds. LS1 5DF.

    Walkabout.

Not only will this Aussie-inspired watering hole be showing every game of the tournament, it also has booths with TVs built in for those that prefer a more living-room feel when watching the match.

That being said, with special Euros offers, drinks packages, an extensive food menu, late licence and beer garden, there’s not much chance of you getting much peace or quiet once you cross Walkabout’s threshold – every night’s a party and it’s one you’ll want inviting back to time and time again!

    Walkabout, 43 Woodhouse Lane, Leeds. LS1 3HQ.

    Roxy Lanes.

It may be more famous for its bowling alley, ice-free curling and shuffleboard tables but Roxy Lanes is a truly brilliant place to watch the match thanks to six 60-inch HD TVs, two 3-metre projection screens and private screens above every bowling lane.

With both group bookings and private booths available to book in advance, food and/or drinks packages, a ridiculous cocktail menu, loads of beers to choose between and a cracking pizza menu, Roxy is undoubtedly the best place in the city to watch the Euros as part of a proper night out. As you’d expect from a place that calls itself ‘an adult playground’, expect every matchday to be an absolute riot.

Roxy Lanes, The Light, 44-48 The Headrow, Leeds. LS1 8TL.

    BOX.

With several locations in and around Leeds, BOX is clearly onto a good thing and it only takes one visit to understand why. The city centre site is our favourite and it will be showing every game of the Euros across 21 HD widescreen TVs. They’ve even got private hire spaces available for large groups.

Chuck in an ever-changing selection of craft beers, 2-for-1 cocktails that are available almost every day and a huge selection of wines, shots and spirits to quench your thirst – not to mention an extensive food menu and a bottomless brunch option – and it’s easy to see why BOX is so popular among football fans.

    BOX, 15 Infirmary Street, Leeds. LS1 2JS.

    It’s c…

To be honest, we could pick five more places to watch the Euros again tomorrow – we really don’t know how lucky we are to have so many top class venues to watch football in around here!

Obviously we’ll have missed some people’s favourite bars out so let us know where you’ll be watching the Euros games on our social media channels!
