Isabelle, aged 6 of Woodlesford Primary School was announced the lucky winner of the Leeds Credit Union Christmas Card design competition. Isabelle received a PC tablet for her winning design and the school won a donation of £250 to their funds thank to her efforts.

This was presented in the school's Christmas assembly where the winner received a warm round of applause from all the staff and pupils at Woodlesford Primary School.

Leeds Credit Union ran this competition throughout primary schools in Leeds, Wakefield and Harrogate. The competition was run to raise awareness of the importance of saving to children and also to have a unique design for the credit union’s corporate Christmas card this year.

Chris Smyth CEO, Leeds Credit Union commented:

“We ran this competition to raise awareness of the importance of saving and the response has been great. It was really hard to select the winner as all the designs were fantastic but Isabelle’s bold design of using a money pot with a Christmas theme really made the message of saving stand out”

As an important part of working in their local community, Leeds Credit Union work with schools to set up free school savings clubs across Leeds, Wakefield and Harrogate. They currently run schemes in over 30 schools and have a simple website www.schoolsaving.club for schools to manage their school saving clubs.
